Runyon’s didn’t begin as a furniture brand. It began in a warehouse with a sewing machine, a stack of bean bags, and two people willing to outwork the odds. Thirty years on, we still build furniture the way we built the company — by hand, one piece at a time, made for the person who ordered it.

When Bo Met Andy
Bo came to Texas for the summer to visit her older brother — who introduced her to his friend Andy, a real estate entrepreneur. She extended her stay, and then she never left. Three decades and four kids later, they’re still partners in life and in business.
The Bean Bag Warehouse
It started in a small warehouse in Haltom City, Texas, with a sewing machine and a lot of grit. Bo and Andy made and sold bean bags — humble work, but it taught them how to build something with their own hands and stand behind it.
Married & Discount Furniture Opens
Newly married, Bo and Andy opened their first showroom — Discount Furniture — in Haltom City. Budget pieces, long hours, a young family underfoot. The furniture wasn’t fine yet, but the work ethic already was.
Family Furniture & the First Daughters
Savannah arrived in 1998 and Sadie in 2001, and the store took a name to match the life around it: Family Furniture. The business and the family grew up together.
Runyon’s Home Furnishings
Sarah and Lane completed the family, and the store took a new name: Runyon’s Home Furnishings. These were steady, hardworking years — building a loyal following and putting down roots as a family furniture store. The real leap — into custom, one-of-a-kind design — was still a few years off.
The Move to Roanoke
The family moved to Roanoke, Texas, opened a new store, and with it Bo set out to do something different. Tired of selling the same pieces as every other store, she began designing her own and working with local artisans to build a collection you won’t find anywhere else. The whole business turned toward one-of-a-kind, made-to-order design — built around each customer’s frame, hide, size, and shape. This is where Runyon’s became what it is today.
The Daughters Step Into Leadership
Savannah, Sadie, and Sarah stepped into leadership, carrying the brand into a new era of custom design and national reach — with deep respect for the warehouse where it all started.

Built by Hand to Be Passed Down
Every piece is hand-dyed, hand-tooled, hand-carved, and hand-finished on a solid hardwood frame, and backed by a lifetime warranty on frames. This is heirloom construction — furniture meant to be lived on for decades and passed down, not replaced.
Mixed With Intention, Selected by Hand
Top-grain and exotic leathers, hair-on cowhides, shed antlers, iron hardware, reclaimed teak — each hand-selected for its character and layered with intention. Good leather only improves with time, deepening in patina with every year of use.
Designed With You, Not For You
From the first hello — where you’re greeted like an old friend — to the day it’s placed in your home, you work one-on-one with Bo and the design team through hundreds of leathers and fabrics. “We give them 100 percent of our attention, and we listen,” Bo says. “They become part of the family.”

Can I customize my furniture?
Yes — nearly everything we make is made to order. You choose the frame, the leather or hide, the size, and the detailing, so no two pieces are alike.
Is Runyon’s really family-owned?
Yes. Runyon’s is a family business, founded in 1994 and run today by Bo and Andy Runyon alongside their daughters. When you work with us, you’re working directly with the family.
Do you deliver nationwide?
Yes. We offer nationwide white-glove delivery, so clients across the country receive the same care and handling as our local customers.
Do I have to come to Texas to work with you?
Not at all. Many of our customers design remotely — we’ll send swatches, work through your options by phone or virtual consultation, and ship your finished piece to your door. You’re always welcome to visit the Roanoke showroom, but it’s never required.
