The Iron Avila Chest is a luxurious, high-end chest that brings rugged charm with refined elegance into any space. This quality southwest chest features a deep, rich chocolate coloring that includes subtle lighter tones throughout the piece for a distressed look and aged, speckled appearance. The first step in production is drying the wood in a kiln, then treating it for pests before beginning the creative process. After phase I, the constructed artwork moves on to the Pre-Finish process, which entails applying several paint bases and hand sanding in phases. To give it a distinctive texture and color, multiple coats of paint and acrylic are applied during the finishing process. Each piece goes through this process of hand distressing and hand polishing. Since each piece is hand-painted, colors may slightly differ. Our case goods are constructed using mortise and tenon joinery. Each piece of our exterior hardware is manually fashioned from wrought iron. Peruvian made!

Handcrafted for superior durability using Mohena and Tornillo wood, similar to mahogany, it is the perfect storage solution for your western home or rustic retreat. The chest's two doors frame the curves and spirals within the door faces, where the hand-forged metalwork forms a mirror image that centers on a small circular detail in the middle. There's a nice variation between curves and straight lines within the door fronts.

Small pulls anchored on a floral-shaped feature make up the door handles, while the drawers have elegant spiraled pulls, adding to the artistry. Its scalloped base and short, rounded feet add a classic touch. The deep coloring of the inside of this western-style hutch will nicely showcase anything you display. Hand crafted and hand painted by master artisans, who carefully carve each individual piece by hand. All our pieces are finished throughout including the interior and back. We work with selected hard tropical hardwood indigenous to the area. We mainly use Mohena and Tornillo. These are medium weight woods similar to mahogany. High quality wood veneer is used on certain tops and door panels.
