The labor intensive burnishing technique is a long process that is done by hand by a highly-experienced, trained craftsman. Hyde Park has no protective finish.

Use a soft cotton cloth dry or lightly moistened with warm water to clean the leather. Make sure the object doesn't get too wet during cleaning. Make sure to dry off the leather completely. Avoid placing stool in direct sunlight for long periods of time.
