Materials

Dark Rum Full-Grain Buffalo Leather

Dark Rum is a full-grain buffalo leather that embodies warmth, richness, and timeless character. Chrome-tanned and finished with a waxed aniline treatment, it highlights the hide’s natural grain and delivers a dramatic pull-up effect — a luxurious leather with a soft hand, visual depth, and organic surface variation.

Extensively milled for added softness, Dark Rum has a rich, supple hand that’s unusually soft for a full-grain buffalo hide. Made to order and built for a lifetime of use, it’s a natural choice for custom upholstery, heirloom Western seating, and the demands of a working bar or lodge. As it ages, it develops a rich patina that enhances its character, depth, and timeless appeal.

Leather Characteristics:

  • Grain Type: Full-Grain Buffalo
  • Finish: Waxed Aniline, Pull-Up
  • Tannage: Chrome
  • Color: Dark Rum — deep espresso brown with warm tonal layering
  • Feel: Supple, Soft-Handed, Milled
  • Sheen Level: Low / Soft Wax Finish

Why Don't Product Colors Match What I See on my Screen?

We do our best to portray all of our products as accurately as possible, but the colors of our custom leathers and upholstery may differ slightly in person from how they appear online. This is due to disparities in display devices. Colors typically appear brighter or more intense when viewed on a screen, and images can also vary from screen to screen based on the brightness settings and color calibration of your device. We do our best to ensure that all of our product photos are color calibrated and as accurate as possible. If you are concerned about the color(s) of a particular piece, please give us a call at (817) 490-0082. We are happy to answer all of your questions and will ensure that you are happy with your purchase.

NOTICE: Variations in grain, texture, and color distinguish 100% top-grain cowhide leather. Expected healed scars and markings only adds to the skins' inherent beauty. These differences are characteristic of genuine 100% top grain cowhide leather and should not be perceived as flaws.
