Texas Outlaw Cowhide Western Dining Chair

Q: How should I care for the leather and hide over the years?

Dust the 100% top-grain leather frequently with a clean, dry cloth; when needed, wipe it with a clean damp cloth and a mild Ivory soap-and-water solution, follow with another damp cloth, and dry it promptly. Gently dust the hair-on-hide with a soft, dry cloth, and never use saddle soap, polish, wax, or other cleaning agents on the leather if you want to preserve its supple surface and developing patina.

Quantity

Will this chair fit beneath my dining table and leave enough room for guests?

The chair measures 24 x 24 x 48, with a 27-inch arm height. Measure the underside of your tabletop or apron for arm clearance and allow adequate space behind each place setting; the black antique finish carries the full-height frame with a high-backed, room-defining profile.

Will every cowhide chair have exactly the same pattern?

No, and that natural distinction is integral to the design. Each panel of genuine black-and-white hair-on-hide carries its own markings, giving every chair individual speckling and unrepeatable pattern movement while preserving the intended color contrast.

Can the upholstery be customized for my dining room?

Yes. The chair can be custom ordered from a broad selection of leathers, hair-on-hides, and fabrics, allowing the upholstery to answer your table, palette, and surrounding furnishings with a more restrained or more graphic back-panel statement.

Does this chair belong only in a traditional Western dining room?

Not at all. Its controlled black, white, and grey palette works with a range of table colors and styles, while the antique nailhead trim gives the upholstery a crisp, dark line of definition; it is equally persuasive at the dining table or used alone as an accent chair.

SMOOTH LEATHER:

No upholstery material is easier to care for than genuine top grain leather. Dust frequently with a clean dry cloth. Wipe occasionally with a mild Ivory soap and water solution on a clean damp cloth. Repeat with a clean damp cloth and dry with a clean cloth to restore the beautiful patina of the leather. DO NOT use saddle soap, polish, wax or any cleaning agents other than a mild Ivory soap and water solution. The use of any cleaning substance other than a mild Ivory soap and water solution will negate any warranties from the leather tannery.

HAIR-ON HIDE:

Vacuum gently on a low setting, always in the direction the hair lies. Where debris needs more than suction, brush with the hair using a soft, clean bristle brush. Do not use leather conditioner on hair-on hide. Avoid harsh cleaners, excessive moisture, and aggressive rubbing. If cleaning is necessary, spot-clean the affected area with a damp cloth only and let it dry naturally away from heat. Contact us before applying any product.
